Ahmed is a native Arabic speaker from Egypt, Cairo. He has over 12 years’ experience in the translation and localization field working as a Hebrew – Arabic translator and editor. He has also held positions for language Testing Engineer and Localization Project Manager. Ahmed has extensive experience in handling large volume translation projects for software and document localization. He has worked for a range of translation and localization groups and companies including Microsoft, Babylon, Saudisoft, as well as several governmental authorities. He holds a B.A. degree in Translation and Interpreting from Faculty of Alsun Ain Shams University and additionally is a certified Hebrew - Arabic translator with a High Translation professional diploma from the same faculty. He is a published author translating news articles and writing political analysis with contributions to an array of research centers and newspapers including AL Aharam, Beirut Political Centre, Aldiplomasy Magazine, and Lindro Italian News, to name a few. In his free time Ahmed likes swimming, shooting and reading about new ideas.
Daniela has over 16 years' experience in the translation, localization and language instruction professions. She holds a degree in Sworn, Literary, Technical, and Scientific Translation from the Instituto Nacional de Enseñanza Superior Olga Cossettini in Rosario, Argentina. Starting her career as a translator for English-Spanish/Spanish-English in 1990 over the years she has worked for several Localization Agencies as a translator, assistant project manager and senior project manager. She has completed a wide range of professional certifications in document and website localization with emphasis on translation, budgeting, quality control and project management including The Localization Institute’s Triple Certification in Localization Project Management (Localization Institute Chico, CA, USA). She has managed a wide variety of document, website, software and audio-video localization projects utilizing different Translation Management Systems (TMS), Translation Memory (TM) and I18n and L10n tool suites.
Farah is a native Arabic speaker born and residing in Cairo, Egypt. She received her degree in Commerce and English from Ain-Shams University studying marketing, management, economics and accounting. Her experience includes working in various specialties in global digital marketing with specific training in Link Building, Website Traffic Analysis, On-page Optimization and Off-page Optimization as well as standard Social Media Marketing. She is skilled in a variety of tools including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Light Room and SEO tools such as Google Keyword Planner, SeoMoz, Opensite Explorer, Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools. She enjoys playing sports such as swimming and basketball and loves to read in her spare time.
Federico has over 12 years' experience as a globalization engineer managing a wide range of software and website globalization projects (internationalization I18n + localization L10n). His expertise spans software and website internationalization and localization processes, standards and tools as well as locale specific SEO. Federico has completed hundreds of successful globalization engagements serving as lead I18n architect involving different programming languages. He is a certified developer in several content management systems and helps clients create world-ready applications, utilizing development practices that are faster, more economical, and more localization-friendly.
Fluent in German, Greek, French and Italian (as well as English), Fotini has over 15 years of localization industry experience serving in a multitude of operational and sales roles. She has extensive experience in document, software, website and multimedia localization and manages day-to-day global production for GPI's project management and translation teams. She has lived and worked in Germany, Greece, France and the USA.
Grant has over 8 years of business development experience and 6 years of experience within the translation and localization industry. Most recently he served as a Director of Business Development at Echo International a small translation agency serving a range of clients from a variety of industries including Consumer Products, Retail, Technology, and Legal. He provided consultation on a variety of translation project types including documentation, software and website translation services. Before that he worked at Translation.com the world’s largest privately held translation agency as a Business Development Director where he acquired experience working with Fortune 100 companies as well as global SME’s helping them with their translation and localization projects ranging from documentation and multilingual desktop publishing to comprehensive website localization. Over the years he has trained extensively in technology sales, localization sales, and consultative sales. After graduating from Dickinson College with a degree in international business and management. Throughout his career he has kept a keen eye on the technology aspects of the localization industry and has spent a large part of his career focused on website localization. When Grant is not working to help companies with their language and technology needs, he enjoys fishing, hunting, skiing, trying new restaurants, and Pittsburgh Sports.
Hebatullah Mahmoud Nady (Heba) is a native Arabic speaker who lives in Cairo, Egypt. She has 11 years of experience in client relations and project management, working in different industries, such as publishing, oil and gas and foremost translation and localization. Heba holds a B.A. degree in English Language and Literature from Ain Shams University, and has a great passion for language and culture. She has been actively managing many localization and translation projects for major clients since 2008 and is well versed in a wide range of localization tools and practices. Heba enjoys working with teams from different cultures and bringing people together to achieve a common goal. For her translation is a mission that contributes to enriching Arabic and other cultures and languages. In her free time, Heba likes to read about literature and management, and go site-seeing.
Hossam is an Arabic native speaker from Cairo, Egypt. He graduated from The Higher Institute for Optical Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. For the last 10 years his professional experience includes working with some of Egypt’s top localization companies including AIS, Arabize and Future Group in positions ranging from technical support to DTP Specialist. He is well versed in a range of graphic and technical authoring tools specializing in BI-DI languages including: Adobe InDesign - Adobe Illustrator - Adobe Photoshop – Adobe FrameMaker, as well as Microsoft Office and Quark. In his free time he enjoys football, tennis, judo, & cars.
A native New Yorker, Kim has 20 years desktop publishing experience and approximately ten years’ experience in the localization field. Kim started her career as a PowerPoint specialist in Boston working for Bain and Company and then moved to Manhattan to work as a Graphic Designer and Desktop Publisher for JP Morgan Chase and Brown Brothers Harriman. Studying in Costa Rica began her love of different cultures and people. She took an opportunity at a localization company in Boulder, Colorado doing multilingual design with a concentration in the Adobe Suite application as well as Quark and Framemaker. She eventually branched off working remotely. Her passion is snowboarding the rocky mountains of Colorado.
Manar is Syrian-Canadian who has worked and lived in Canada, Europe and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She is a native Arabic and English speaker who is fluent in French. She studied International Business in Switzerland and Canada and then graduated with a double major in History and Theory of Art AND Arts Administration from University of Ottawa in Canada. Manar has experience in event and venue management within galleries, exhibitions, live events and film festivals. Across these events and venues she was responsible for managing day-to-day operations and a range of project management activities including advertising, event promotion and logistics. In her free time Manar enjoys learning new languages, reading and writing and constantly growing and improving herself.
Marina is a native Spanish speaker from Rosario, Argentina with over 15 years’ experience as a certified English-Spanish translator and interpreter. She graduated with a dual degree in Technical-Scientific and Literary Translation and Simultaneous and Consecutive Interpreting from the Instituto de Educación Superior Olga Cossettini in Rosario. She has extensive experience with most well known CAT tools including the range of SDL tools such as SDL Trados Studio, MultiTerm, Wordfast, SDL Idiom WorldServer, Translation Workspace, XBench, etc. She has also served as a CAT Tool Instructor conducting an average of 50 courses and workshops for many associations, private institutes and conferences. Over the years she has provided Spanish language translation and interpreting for a multitude of translation agencies, Global Fortune 500 companies, Governments and NGO’s. When not working she enjoys traveling, cooking, reading and movies with her family.
Martin has over 20 years' experience providing documentation, software and website globalization services. Throughout his career he has held numerous production and business development positions, including project manager, operations manager, web master, account executive, VP of sales and marketing and owner/managing partner. Martin has established and managed translation offices in Argentina, Brazil, Switzerland, the United States and the UAE. He has overseen hundreds of successful globalization projects every year since 1987, ranging from large volume, multi-million word documentation sets to complex, high-profile websites for Fortune 500 companies.
Mohamed is a native Arabic speaker from Giza, Egypt. He has over 5 years’ experience in software and websites development projects. His experience includes working with multiple web frameworks, and approaches to web development using a range of tools and technologies including C#, ASP.Net MVC, LINQ, PHP, Django, HTML5/CSS3, JS, NodeJS, AngularJS, JQuery, MqSql PostgreSQL, SQL Server & VoIP with O.S.: Linux, Windows, OSX. He has experience in GIS and data collection projects working as a GEO-Spatial Application Developer. Mohamed has worked with various companies including CartoLogic, a leading 3D and spatial software consultancy and Tawasol, a mobile apps & portals, Websites & web-based apps, Digital strategy & e-marketing solutions company in Egypt. He worked as an application developer on a range of software development teams of varying sizes delivering solutions for both public and private sector clientele. Mohamed studied Computer Engineering at the Cairo University graduating with a Bachelor of Computer Engineering (B.E.). In his free time he enjoys exploring social media and PlayStation.
Natalie was born and raised in the state of Montana, USA where she graduated from The University of Montana with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration. Her international experience includes two summer programs, one at The European Business School in Germany and the other at The University of Brescia in Italy. She studied a variety of global business subjects including international business, trade, culture and language. Key projects for her undergrad studies included meeting with executives from large corporations such as Lufthansa, Opel, and The European Central Bank as well as working with the design team on the marketing plan for the 2015 World Fair in Milan, Italy. She has a range of global event management experience including organization of the Annual Mansfield Conference on the Middle East and the China Town Hall meeting series. Her hobbies include yoga, cooking, reading, being outdoors and traveling.
A native speaker of Spanish, Nicolás has expert skills on both Mac and PC platforms with many DTP applications including Adobe Tech Comm Suite, specifically structured and unstructured FrameMaker, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and others. He also has advanced skills in Microsoft Office products like PowerPoint and Word, as well as Quark.
Peter has over 18 years’ experience in business development within the localization industry supporting clients for documentation, software and website globalization services. He started his career in the translation industry in 1995 and over the years has worked for several leading localization service providers including LMI, Berlitz, Welocalize, GPI and Beyondsoft. Throughout his career Peter has led by example and always put his clients’ needs first to ensure client expectations are understood and successfully met. Over the years Peter has trained extensively in Solution Selling, Action Selling and Localization Sales, Testing and Project Management. Peter handles many of GPI’s global accounts helping educate clients on GPI’s comprehensive suite of globalization services and industry best practices.
Rabab is a native Arabic speaker from Cairo, Egypt. She has over 12 years’ experience in software and websites architecture and implementation using open source programming tools including PHP, MySQL as well as jQuery, JSON and Ajax. She has served with various companies including Pyramid Technologies, Link-Dot-Net and InTouch Communications as a Programmer, Systems Engineer – Developer and Lead Web Developer. She earned her B.Sc. Degree in Economics with a minor in Computer Science from Cairo University. She completed a SSDP Diploma from the Information Technology Institute (IDSC), The Cabinet and is a certified Cloud Business Associate and a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP, MCAD and MCSD.NET) Over the years she has designed and implemented a range of localized web-based business applications and portals for clients in the finance, hospitality, telecommunications and e-commerce sectors. In her free time she enjoys, traveling, reading, swimming, tennis and outdoor activities.
Rasha is a Cairo - based Arabic speaker who graduated from Ain-Shams University with a Bachelor of Alsun (languages) where she studied Turkish and Farsi. She has over 12 years’ experience in the multilingual desktop publishing and design field for several companies including Elocalize and Future-Group. She provided desktop publishing, technical authoring and quality assurance for a range of international clientele. She has completed a wide variety of Arabic and other language desktop publishing projects using a range of technical documentation authoring applications including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Frame Maker. She also has worked extensively with Microsoft Office tools like MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher. In her free time she enjoys cooking and travelling.
Sakina is originally from Azerbaijan and is now living and working in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She fluently speaks 5 languages including Azeri, Russian, Turkish, English and Chinese. In high school, she was an exchange student in Alabama, United States of America. She graduated from Baku State University, faculty of Oriental Studies (China). She has 8 years’ experience in different fields of Business Development, Office Management, Translation and Teaching. She has worked in international companies owned by Chinese, Turkish and British firms, providing her diverse experience with different cultures and business protocols and customs. She has solid experience as well in sales, researching, customer relations and business planning. She is a proud mother of 2 year old baby-girl. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and playing outdoors.
Shigeru Tsutsumi is a native Japanese speaker with 20+ year’s extensive experience in the translation & localization industry. He has held a variety of language, technology and management positions including managing director japan, business development manager, translator, software localization specialist, QA lead, and senior localization project manager with firms including Cisco, Intel, Linguistic Systems, The Big Word and Welocalize. He is a Washington State University alumni and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. He has spent many years in the Pacific Northwest (USA) and has traveled and worked throughout Europe and Japan. He has a comprehensive awareness, understanding and respect of global business practices between US and Japan, as well as many other countries. He enjoys spending time with his family both in the USA and Japan as well as reading, cooking, traveling, running, working out, snow skiing and playing Rugby.
Waleed is a native Arabic speaker born in Menofeya (the northern part of the Nile Delta), Egypt. He has over 10 years’ experience in multilingual design, desktop publishing and localization engineering. Over the years he has worked for localization and design companies Verso and Future-Group working in the documentation desktop publishing and design departments. He also has comprehensive training and experience in many localization and CAT tools. He holds an array of professional certifications including CIW’s Certified Internet Webmaster and Programmer, IBM Web Programmer and Macromedia Designer and extensive application experience with the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft products. He is a graduate from Menoufia University with a B.A in English Language and Literature. His hobbies include gardening, swimming and travelling.
Wendy is a native Chinese speaker from Taipei, Taiwan. She has extensive experience in localization, translation, and project management. As a Project Manager and business consultant, she has led projects in quality management, DTP automation, and website localization; helping companies optimize and create success in their localization processes. Wendy has worked for private sector and public sector clients, starting her localization career at the World Bank in Washington, DC. She holds a MA in Translation and Localization Management from Middlebury Institute of International Studies. Wendy has translated a number of published children's books from English into traditional Chinese and enjoys teaching (or, at least attempting to) Chinese to pre-kindergartners!
